Introducing coral…
We are all so much more than a brief description, but here’s my best efforts! My job, as chief advocate of all things Cwtch, I am a passionate welsh woman, teacher, consultant, trainer, coach and supervisor with a drive to support the emotional well-being and mental health of children, young people and the adults who work with them. We all deserve to live and enjoy life fully and reach our emotional potential and this is the goal of Cwtch. To support others to become the best and happiest version of themselves.
I started teaching some 30+ years ago with some of the most vulnerable children in the most deprived parts of London and very quickly developed a passion for the underdog. I have worked in local authority and private mainstream and SEMH provisions as a teacher and senior leader. Latterly, I have enjoyed 10+ years as a trainer, coach and reflective supervisor,
I have always prioritised emotional safety, joy, connection and fun (and a heavy emphasis on connection with nature and animals) and with this basis, children have almost learned despite me. What I believed intuitively then, I know neuroscientifically now; that children need connection, relationship, safety and opportunity.
I delight in sharing this knowledge through both private consultancy and through the commission and delivery of training across Wales with Trauma Informed Schools and Communities. I feel privileged to be a director of, and to have worked with TISCUK since its inception.
When I’m not doing this, I can often be found potting, gardening, beekeeping, walking the wilds of the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline or chasing chickens!
